Man charged with trafficking in pain meds

RICHMOND — Police charged 37-year-old John W. Medley, Merrick Drive, with several drug offenses following a traffic stop Friday.

An RPD detective saw Medley driving a vehicle at 1:40 p.m. on North Second Street. The detective was aware that Medley’s operator’s license had been suspended and promptly stopped the vehicle, according to the police report.

When Medley was removed from his vehicle, he attempted to discard two pill bottles that were retrieved by the detective, the report stated. The bottles were found to contain 26 hydrocodone pills, 20 oxycodone pills and nine buprenorphine pills.  

A subsequent search of Medley produced a bag of marijuana and 30 Suboxone strips, the RPD officer reported.

Medley was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, two counts of second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and operating on a suspended license.

A bench warrant from the Madison District Court charging Medley with failure to appear also was served on him.  

Police charge Lebanon man with assault, damaging vehicle

Richmond police charged 36-year-old David S. Martin, of Lebanon, with vandalism and assault following a domestic complaint Saturday.

A complainant/victim reported that she and Martin had been involved in a verbal argument at the Days Inn. During the course of the argument, Martin forcibly removed a set of keys from the victim’s hand, causing a minor cut, according to the police report.  

The complainant told police Martin then punched the victim’s car door causing more than $1,000 in damage.  

Martin was found at the Days Inn and taken into custody. He was charged with fourth-degree assault and first-degree criminal mischief, and he was taken to the Madison County Detention Center.    

Police report finding meth, pot, pills in car

Richmond police charged 36-year-old Clifton B. Wilson, of Lexington, with several drug offenses after investigating a complaint.

Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of North Keeneland Drive early Monday morning to investigate a report that an intoxicated man was sitting in his vehicle.  

An officer found Wilson and determined that he was intoxicated, according to the RPD news release. The officer reported he saw suspected methamphetamine powder on the console of the vehicle.  

Wilson was taken into custody and after searching him, the officer reported finding a Lortab pill and a syringe.  

A further search of the vehicle revealed three additional Lortab pills, three Suboxone pills, four alprazolam pills, two small bags of methamphetamine and a bag of marijuana, according to the RPD.

Wilson was charged with public intoxication, first-, second- and third-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A bench warrant from the Fayette County District Court on a charge of failure to appear also was served on Wilson.
