Madison Central finishes second in state band championship

Edged by Lafayette of Lexington

LOUISVILLE — The Madison Central High School Marching Band came in second Saturday night in the state 5-A championship.

MCHS, which was tied with Lafayette High School of Lexington at the conclusion of Saturday afternoon’s semifinal round, was edged by Lafayette in the finals, according to Marc Whitt of the band’s booster organization.

Dunbar High of Lexington finished third, followed by North Hardin High of Radcliff in the competition conducted by the Kentucky Music Educators Association.
