BEREA — The Berea Festival of Learnshops, which began July 13, will wrap up its third year this Sunday after offering more than 100 different workshops taught by regional artists.

Learnshops were available for all ages and interests using a wide variety of art media.

One popular Learnshop was “Blow Your Own Glass Ornament” taught by local artisan Michelle Weston of Weston Glass Studio in Old Town Berea.

Carol Moffett, of Harrodsburg, took the class last year. She decided to take the class a second time because she enjoyed being able to bring home a piece of art she helped create.

“Glass is something unique and wonderful to work with,” she said.

Vicky Grant, of Lexington, said this was her first glass-blowing class, “but it won’t be my last.”

Weston’s Learnshops were full for the festival, but she offers glass-blowing courses year round, she said. A large glass window separates her studio from the gallery so visitors can watch the entire process.
