On Saturday, Aug. 3, Suzi Perron will speak on the growing quilt trail movement during a noon luncheon at the Berea College Alumni Building, at the corner of Scaffold Cane Road and Prospect Street.
In her book, “Barn Quilts and the American Quilt Trail Movement,” Perron explores the growing public arts movement to decorate barns with traditional quilt patterns. Her talk includes slides of barn quilts in the U.S. and Canada.
Started in 2001, there now 3,000 registered barns with quilt squares scattered along more than 100 driving trails spanning throughout 40 states.
Tickets are $30 and must be ordered by Friday (July 26).
