No children injured when day-care van collides with oncoming car

Register staff report

BEREA — Shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday, the driver of a van for Bright Beginnings Daycare suffered a medical emergency which caused the van to cross the center line on Chestnut Street near People’s Bank and collide with an oncoming car, according to Sgt. Jake Reed, spokesperson for the Berea Police Department.

Although four children were in the van with the driver, Craig White, 48, neither he nor any of the children were injured.

However, the driver of the other vehicle, Tabitha Walters, 32, of Berea, and a passenger, Edward Marshall, 34, of Richmond, were transported to St. Joseph Berea hospital where they were treated for minor injuries, Reed said.

The nature of White’s medical issue and how the children were taken to their destination was not available.
