Jackson County man dies in KY 21 accident

Register staff report

BEREA — A Jackson County man, Farley Rose, 67, died Thursday afternoon, shortly after the Chevy S-10 pickup truck he was driving on KY 21 east of Berea collided head on with a Ford F-150 pickup.

Rose appeared to have died from his injuries soon after the accident, said Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison, who examined the body at St. Joseph Berea hospital.

Rose’s wife and the driver of the other pickup, also from Jackson County, suffered serious injuries and were transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center by Madison County EMS, Cornelison said.

Before Rose expired, a medical evacuation helicopter from UK had been called to fly him to the Lexington medical center, the coroner said.
