Fraternity shaves heads to support girl with cancer

Register Staff Report

RICHMOND — When a member of the Theta Chi chapter at Rutgers University posted on Facebook that his goddaughter, Christina Marie, was being bullied at school because she had lost her hair battling leukemia, the national fraternity quickly took up her cause.

Across the country, chapter members have been shaving their heads and sending photos to Marie along with supportive messages. Ten volunteers from Eastern Kentucky University’s chapter of the organization agreed to videotape themselves getting their heads shaved and send it to the girl with the message that they loved her new look so much, they decided to try it for themselves.
