Resident reports burglary on Ridgewood Drive

Berea Crimes

BEREA — A resident in the 800 block of Ridgewood Drive reported Thursday that upon arriving home, the front door of the house was open and several items were missing. Estimated loss was $650.

Checks stolen from camper in Walmart parking lot

• A person reported by phone Saturday that he was in Michigan but had recently been in Berea. He said some of his checks were stolen from his camper while it was parked at the Berea Walmart.

Other thefts:

• An employee of the Madison County Public Library, Berea branch, reported Thursday that a woman removed three CDs from their cases and took them from the library. The estimated loss is $40.

• A complainant reported March 26 that his vehicle, worth $5,500, was stolen from the parking lot of America’s Best Value Inn during the night.

• A complainant reported March 26 that the heating and air unit was stolen from a business in the 500 block of Glades Road. Estimated loss is $900.

Misdemeanor arrests

Between March 27 and Saturday, Berea police reported arresting two people on misdemeanor charges, including one person for operating a vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol (first offense) and one person for theft by unlawful taking for allegedly stealing merchandise worth a total of $218.20 from Walmart.
