Depot announces night-time gate closure

RICHMOND — Starting today, the entrance to the Blue Grass Army Army Depot will be closed every day to the public from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., according to a news release from the depot. It will remain open during those hours only to people involved with official business.

This will not impact the installation’s day and evening shift operations or the operations at the Blue Grass Chemical Agent – Destruction Pilot Plant.

The gate closure will last for an “indefinite period,” the release stated. The action is being taken as a cost-cutting measure.
