BEREA — A Berea teen who was reported missing Tuesday was safely back with his family by 5:30 p.m., according to Berea Police Chief David Gregory.
The family of Austin Turner, 14, reported before midmorning that he was last seen at his Berea home around 2:30 a.m., Tuesday, BPD Sgt. Jake Reed said before he was reunited with a parent..
At about 8 a.m. Tuesday a motorist saw him walking along the highway near Exit 90 of Interstate 75 in Richmond and offered to give him a ride home, Reed said. However, the boy refused the offer, saying he was headed to Fayette Mall in Lexington. He also was reportedly seen in Woodford County.
“I’m happy to say we’ve had a good outcome in this case,” Gregory said.
