Model Middle places second

RICHMOND — A team from B. Michael Caudill Middle School took first-place in the seventh annual Kentucky Middle School Mock Trial Competition conducted Friday in the Madison County courtrooms.

Model Laboratory Middle School earned second-place.

Eight teams faced off in the middle school competition: Caudill Middle, Model Middle, Clark-Moores Middle, Wayne County Middle, Bath County Middle, North Hardin Middle, Warren County 1 and Warren County 2.

Caudill is invited to attend the high school competition March 14-16 at Eastern Kentucky University and will be permitted to compete if space is available.

Last year, Madison Central High School lost in the final round of the state competition to Montgomery County High School, which won its third consecutive state championship.

This year’s KHSMT winner will represent Kentucky May 8-10 in Madison, Wis., at the national competition.
