RPD arrests two in connection with stripped truck

RICHMOND — Police charged Justin M. Fritts, 19, Evansdale Avenue, and Noah L. Hensley, 30, Steep Street, on Wednesday in connection with the theft of parts from a vehicle.

A complainant reported the same day that several parts had been stolen from a truck he owned that was parked to the rear of Brockman’s Automotive on Lake Street, according to a Richmond police report.

The victim reported that the front bumper, the front end, the rear end and the truck bed had been stolen from the pickup truck.

Fritts and Hensley were identified as suspects, according to the Richmond police.

On the same date, the investigating officer interviewed Fritts and Hensley after which both were charged with theft by unlawful taking ($500 to $10,000) and lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.  

Man charged with theft of iPhone

Police charged Ryan J. Walton, 38, Brooks Road, on Friday in connection with a theft that occurred in November 2013.

A complainant reported to Richmond police Nov. 25 that her iPhone 5S in a case with a charger had been stolen from a residence she was visiting in the 200 block of Calumet Drive.

Walton was identified as a suspect in the theft, and the phone was later recovered from an associate of his, according to an RPD report.

A warrant was issued Nov. 27 for Walton’s arrest, charging him with theft by unlawful taking ($500 to $10,000). 

Walton was encountered by an officer at 2:49 a.m. Friday on the Robert R. Martin Bypass and taken into custody without incident, the police report stated. He was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
