RICHMOND — Classes were out for the third school day in a row Tuesday for students across Madison County.

The Madison County and Berea school districts called a snow day Friday and then students were out again Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. On Tuesday, children woke up in the morning to a blanket of heavy snow. By Tuesday afternoon, the county had already cancelled classes for Wednesday.

Several families jumped at the opportunity to hit favorite sledding spots, such as Lake Reba in Richmond and the hill behind First Christian Church in Berea.

Two city government meetings scheduled Tuesday night were postponed.

The Berea City Council meeting was rescheduled for tonight (Wednesday), with a 5:30 p.m. work session before the 6:30 p.m. regular meeting.

The Richmond Planning and Zoning Commission meeting was rescheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
