Witnesses report burglary Sunday

RICHMOND — Richmond police quickly tracked down a suspect Sunday afternoon after a Francis Street home was unlawfully entered and items were stolen from the owner.

Hollie G. Gordon, 45, Hallie Irvine Street, was charged with second-degree burglary.

Officer were sent at 1:24 p.m. to the 400 block of Francis Street after receiving a report that a burglary had just occurred and a suspect was seen leaving the area on foot, according to an RPD news release.

Witnesses told police they saw a man pounding on the door of the home before entering. The man was seen leaving the residence carrying items, the release stated.

The police contacted the resident who confirmed that an Xbox 360 gaming system and a Magnavox DVD player had been stolen.

Officers developed information that identified Gordon as a suspect and located him at his home, according to the report. The officers said they also found the stolen items at Gordon’s residence.

He was taken to the Madison County Detention Center and remained there Tuesday morning.

Thefts

• A resident in the 300 block of Jason Drive reported Sunday that a dark green duffle bag containing a pair of Bates zip-up tactical boots and a black winter jumpsuit were stolen. Estimated loss: $165.

• A resident in the 300 block of Primrose Circle reported Monday that a Glock .40 caliber pistol, model 23, and a TomTom XL GPS unit were stolen from his unlocked vehicle overnight. Estimated loss is $450.
