Family members and Richmond police are searching for a Richmond couple who has been missing for several days.
Sonsaray “Sonsi” Lashelle Warford, and Charles D. “Chew” Walker, both 30, were last seen Tuesday morning, according to police. Warford’s family filed a missing person’s report with the Richmond Police Depart-ment Tuesday afternoon.
Warford is a black female, 5 feet 6 inches, approximately 170 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.
Walker is the boyfriend of Warford and they resided together, according to the police report. Walker is a black male, 5 feet 7 inches, 185 pounds, brown eyes, shaved head, with two gold teeth.
His family filed a missing person’s report Thursday that claimed he had not been seen since Monday.
“Calls to (Warford’s) cellular telephone have gone unanswered and none of her friends or associates have had contact with her,” said Richmond Police Chief Larry Brock. “When relatives checked her residence on Tuesday, they discovered that her vehicle was missing, yet the lights were on inside her apartment and her purse, cellular telephone and a puppy were inside.”
Warford’s children are ages 10 and 8, both of whom are staying with her grandparents.
“We just wanted to get this information out there so somebody can help us find her,” said Gregory Todd, Warford’s father. “Her kids are having a hard time.”
Todd was driving down Irvine Street earlier this week and saw some people Warford’s age who may have known her.
They reported seeing her driving her gold, 1999 Chrysler 300M along the Eastern Bypass early on Tuesday. The car has a Kentucky license plate number 027-FVB.
Todd said the disappearance of his daughter is especially unusual based on the frequent contact she usually has with her mother.
“Her mom is really upset,” Todd said. “She usually talks to her seven or eight times a day.”
Warford formerly was employed by local nursing homes and loved working with the elderly, he said.
Warford’s family has no clues as to why she would have left town.
“I just don’t know,” he said. “We have no idea. We’re just really stressed out and hurt. We just miss her and really want her back.”
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Warford and Walker, or anyone who may have seen the couple prior to their disappearance, should call the Richmond Police Department at 623-1162 or 624-4776.
