The Richmond and Madison County Fire Departments partnered Monday morning to decorate a Christmas tree outside the county courthouse. Using the extendable bucket on a Richmond fire truck, the departments draped several strands of lights around the tree as decoration for the holiday season.
Lights on the tree will be turned on at 6 p.m. Friday, an hour prior to Richmond’s Christmas parade.
Each year, the Madison County Fiscal Court accepts a donated tree to place in front of the courthouse, said Phillip Seyfrit, the county’s historic properties director. This year’s tree was donated by Mike and Wilma Barnett of Crooksville Road.
