Arrest made in liquor store theft
Police have arrested a man who is accused of stealing several items from a local liquor store.
Hollie G. Gordon, 44, of Hallie Irvine Street, was charged Wednesday with theft by unlawful taking, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Oct. 29, the owner of LP Liquor, 703 E. Irvine St., reported that several items had been stolen from a storage closet inside the business, including 30 bottles of liquor in assorted brands and sizes, a Cisco wireless router, a Valvoline collector’s T-shirt and a collector’s edition Meucci pool cue.
The total value of the stolen items was reported to be $1,631.
Gordon was found at a home Wednesday in the 200 block of North Madison Avenue, and he was arrested on the strength of a warrant, the release stated.
Police searched Gordon and found a small bag of marijuana and rolling papers on him. He was then taken to the Madison County Detention Center.
Copper taken from under house

iPod reported stolen
A complainant told police Wednesday that her black 80 GB iPod Classic worth $300 had been stolen from her vehicle some time during the previous eight days.
