Shots were fired and hammer was thrown

RICHMOND — Richmond Police have charged a South Porter Drive man in connection with a robbery and pursuit early Tuesday.

Dylan White, 19, was booked Tuesday afternoon at the Madison County Detention on a first-degree robbery charge.

At about 12:35 a.m., a man called Madison County E-911 to report that he had been robbed at gunpoint at Miller’s Landing Car Wash, 944 Red House Road.

A robber wearing a ski mask, armed with a handgun and a hammer, approached and demanded money. The victim surrendered approximately $500 in cash. The robber then entered a waiting vehicle, which drove away, according to a Richmond Police report.

The victim pursued the suspects in his vehicle until colliding with a third vehicle. Before the crash, the suspects shot at the pursuer and threw a hammer that struck his vehicle, the police report added.

The robbery victim suffered minor injuries from the crash and declined medical treatment. However, the driver of the other vehicle suffered neck and back injuries and was transported to the UK Medical Center for treatment.
