The organization Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education has recognized an Eastern Kentucky University vice president for his contributions to the association and the profession.
Dr. Jim Conneely, EKU associate provost and vice president for student affairs, has been selected to receive the organization’s award for Distinguished Service to NASPA (National Association of Student Personnel Administrators ) Region III.
He now becomes a candidate for the organization’s corresponding national honor.
Conneely, who joined EKU in 2003, was recently named president of Notre Dame of Maryland University, effective July 1.
Throughout a 30-year career in higher education administration, Conneely has been very active in numerous regional and national organizations related to student affairs, particularly the Southern Association for College Student Affairs and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA).
In addition holding numerous offices in those and other organizations, he also has contributed many publications and presentations to the field.
NASPA Region III includes 11 southeastern states of the U.S. as well as more than a dozen foreign countries.
