Family Fun & Fitness Thursday night in downtown Richmond

RICHMOND — Madison County residents will have one last chance to get active and save money downtown at tonight’s final Family Fun & Fitness night for Thursday Night Live.

The event will be from 6 to 8 p.m. with First Street closed from Main to Irvine streets. More than 25 vendors also will have booths.

A fitness warm-up led by trainers from Anytime Fitness will be from 6 to 6:15 p.m., followed by a Zumba class sponsored by the Richmond Athletic Club from 6:15 to 6:45 p.m.

Rich City CrossFit will lead a class from 6:45 to 7:15 p.m.

During the event, The Coyote 100.7 FM radio station will be broadcasting live, and the Madison County Public Library will be putting on karaoke. The duo of Silas and Stan also will be performing in concert.

Downtown businesses and restaurants will be offering deals and specials during Thursday Night Live.

Purdy’s Coffee Co. is hosting a benefit concert for Haiti from 7 to 9 p.m. Local musicians will be performing, and all donation, as well as 15 percent of all sales on Thursday, will go toward feeding orphans in Ranquitte, Haiti.

Next Thursday, Oct. 31, Thursday Night Live will be held in conjunction with the annual Halloween Hoe-down from 6 to 8 p.m. sponsored by Richmond Parks and Recreation. The event will have kids games, inflatables, a petting zoo, dog costume contest, silent auction, the Pickled Brothers Circus and kids trick-or-treat booths.

The Downtown Association will have a booth at the hoe-down and also will have free pumpkin painting for children.
