Woman accused of stealing income tax return debit card

Richmond police have charged a woman with stealing a tax-return debit card after preparing another person’s income tax return.

Kenna R. Agee (aka. Bicknell), 29, Spurlin Motor Home Park, was charged Thursday with theft by unlawful taking (under $10,000).

A Villa Drive resident told police Wednesday he allowed Agee to prepare his 2012 tax returns, and he was supposed to received his refund via a prepaid debit card, according to an RPD report.

When the debit card did not arrive in the mail to his home, he checked with the company that sent the card and discovered it had been sent to Agee’s residence. It also had been activated, he was told.

Officers investigated and found evidence that indicated from Feb. 16 to March 1, Agee used the debit card to make multiple cash withdrawals totaling $3,963.
