Register staff report

RICHMOND — Tickets to the University of Kentucky’s Feb. 5 basketball game with South Carolina and the Feb. 19 performance of A Chorus Line at the EKU Center for the Arts will be among the items that will go to the highest bidders Saturday during the annual Richmond Kiwanis Club auction.

The auction will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Richmond City Hall with the commission chamber becoming a radio-TV studio as the event is carried live by Time Warner Cable channel 12 and WEKY-AM 1340.

Bids may be entered in person at city hall or via phone by calling 624-5555.

As has been a tradition for many years, a used vehicle will be auctioned, a 1996 Toyota Camry.

Other items include numerous gift cards for meals at local restaurants, overnight stays at local hotels and registration to EKU summer sports camps, including the football camp of Coach Dean Hood.

Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Kiwanis Club’s youth services projects, said Jennifer Napier, club president.
