MADISON COUNTY —
Kentucky’s tax structure will be the topic when the Madison County branch of the Women’s Network meets in Berea on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the Madison County Public Library in Berea, 319 Chestnut St.
The speaker will be Jason Bailey, a Berea resident recently appointed to the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Commission on Tax Reform. Bailey serves as director of the Kentucky Center for Economic Policy and Research. He also is policy director for the Mountain Association for Community Economic Development.
Attorney Alison Emmons, chair of the Madison County branch of the Women’s Network, said, “Everyone interested in tax reform in the Commonwealth is cordially invited to come and hear Jason Bailey’s presentation and to join in the discussion afterward.”
Emmons said Bailey has worked since 1998 as a researcher addressing economic development and economic security issues in the Commonwealth.
The mission of the Women’s Network is to encourage a citizen network that educates and motivates Kentuckians in support of the Democratic Party principles to achieve a free and fair society. Emmons and Adrianna Francis of Richmond were founders of the group’s Madison County branch. For more information, visit www.kywomensnetwork.org.
