3 charged with making meth at Indian Fort Theater

BEREA — Three people were charged Monday with making methamphetamine after police received a tip about suspicious activity at Indian Fort Theater east of Berea.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit and Berea Police responded to the call at 2 p.m., according to a news release from department spokesperson Deputy Willard Reardon.

When police arrived, they saw Ricky Adams, 44, Martha Gallagher, 41 and Timothy Baker, 47, all of Berea, walking from the amphitheater to the parking lot carrying a 5-gallon bucket, Reardon said.

The law enforcement officers noticed a strong odor of ammonia, a chemical used in making meth, and found a one-step meth lab, Reardon said. Police also reported finding enough chemicals to make .25 grams of meth.

Adams, Gallagher and Baker were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine (first offense) and taken to the Madison County Detention Center.

After the three were charged, the narcotics unit began dismantling the lab, Reardon said.
