  <description>An Irvine woman accused of attempting to rob a Richmond bank last month was probated Wednesday on an amended charge.Uleena Kay Stone, 61, pleaded guilty to attempted theft charges in Madison District Court during a preliminary hearing in her case. Madison County Attorney Marc Robbins said while the charges were quite serious, the facts were quite unconventional.Stone was given a 360-day sentence, which was probated.   <description>The Berea City Council took the first step toward increasing municipal utility rates Tuesday night, hearing the first readings of ordinances implementing rate hikes for water, sewer and electric service. The increase comes following an April 15 meeting in which city council members met with consultant Paul Garcia of The Prime Group LLC. At that meeting, Garcia recommended an increase in the city&#8217;s sewer and electric rates in order to keep with increasing residential demand, and to pay for needed for improvements in the city&#8217;s utilities infrastructure. </description>

  <description>A Berea man had his 8-month-old son unsecured in the back seat of his car Friday when he allegedly was involved in a hit-and-run crash while under the influence, police said.At about 11:14 p.m., officers responded to a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of Chestnut and Elipse streets, said Berea Police Capt. Ken Clark.&#8220;When we made contact with Mr. (Josiah) Hart, the officers detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from him,&#8221; Clark said. &#8220;He failed three field sobriety tests whereby they charged him with DUI first offense.   <description>An excavation contractor learned over the weekend that debris from a demolished building may not be used as fill material without a permit.County officials were notified Friday of possible illegal dumping near the intersection of Barnes Mill Road and Curtis Pike where the new Tuscany subdivision is under development.A resident of an adjacent subdivision who works for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency reported the dumping to Shelby Jones, the county&#8217;s assistant solid waste coordinator. She referred it to Planning and Building Codes Administrator Duane Curry, who works with developers and contractors.</description>
