The Richmond Police Department has partnered with Mann Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep to present a “Kid Print ID” event Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at the dealership at 1815 Irvine Road.
The free identification card includes a photograph, digital thumbprint, height, weight, hair and eye color. Police also will provide identification kits for parents to record emergency information such as doctor’s and dentist’s names, school information and medical and emergency contact information.
“It’s another tool for parents to have if their child is missing or lost,” Richmond police Sgt. Willard Reardon said. “The kits will have emergency information like the child’s doctor, their school and other information.”
Reardon invited all parents to bring their children so that authorities will have faster access to information in an emergency.
“In that situation, sometimes it’s hard for parents to concentrate, so it’s good to have that information in one place,” Reardon said.
