Berea Dairy Queen burglarized

Ronica Shannon
Register News Writer

BEREA Police are looking for the person(s) who turned the Berea Dairy Queen drive-thru into a break-in.

The restaurant was broken into Saturday between 3 and 5 a.m. with the drive-thru window being the point of entry, according to Capt. Ken Clark, public relations officer for the Berea Police Department.

“They broke the window, threw papers around and scattered tools around the place,” he said.

An undetermined amount of money was taken from the restaurant and there was evidence that someone had tried to gain entry into the safe, Clark said.

“They used a grinder to cut through the sheet metal, but there was concrete on the other side,” he said.

Berea police, along with help from the Richmond Police Department, are now in the process of reviewing surveillance videos located in and around the restaurant.

There are no suspects at this time, Clark said.

However, there seems to be some similarities between this Dairy Queen burglary and the Dairy Queen burglary that occurred Thursday, Nov. 13, in Richmond.

“Of course we’re investigating it, but we haven’t actually been able to connect them yet,” Clark said.

Anyone with information about the Berea or Richmond Dairy Queen burglaries are encouraged to call the Berea Police Department at 986-8456 or the Richmond Police Department at 623-8911.
