Participants in the first-ever International Day of Play at Paradise Cove try to keep earth in orbit Friday by not letting the rubber ball touch the ground. Leading the game, at left, is Michael Cavalcante, a Richmond Parks department volunteer. The International Day of Play was part of the VERB Summer Scorecard program hosted by the Madison County Health Department to promote physical fitness and was conducted in conjunction with Richmond Parks and Recreation. The event, which was free with the admission to the aquatic center, included 10 stations each devoted to a different country with a game and information about that country.
