Central Baptist Hospital comes to Richmond

Central Baptist Hospital broke ground Wednesday at Heritage Place in Richmond on a new two-level, 20,000 square-foot facility.
The Central Baptist Medical Plaza will be home to a primary-care physicians practice, offer cardiac physician services and contain multi-specialty clinic space for other affiliated physicians interested in opening an office in Richmond.
The community also will have access to outpatient diagnostic imaging services such as CT scans, ultrasound, X-ray and all-digital screening mammograms.
Richmond Mayor Connie Lawson said she is very satisfied with the plans.
“They’re an outstanding hospital,” she said.
Bringing Central Baptist to the area is just another way to reach out and serve the community, Lawson said.
The hospital is pleased to have served a large number of Madison County residents over the past years, said Central Baptist president and CEO William G. Sisson in a press release.
“We recognize the need to have quality health care services near where you live and work,” Sisson said.
He looks forward to building even stronger relationships with the people of Madison County and surrounding counties, Sisson said, and contributing to the local economy.
“The main thing is to serve the people and work with the hospital (Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center),” Lawson said.
Architectural plans and a timeline for the complex’s construction have not yet been released.
