BALDWIN — Hello from Baldwin. How is everyone’s week going?

I hope everyone is having a great one.

Well, we have plenty of ice on the trees, fences and grass here in Baldwin as I write this article on Wednesday morning. So thankful we still have electricity – hope it stays on.

Congratulations to my nephew and his wife, James Paul and Tiffany Smith, on the birth of their new baby girl.

Riley Lynn Smith was born Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at 5:36 p.m., in Hardin County Memorial Hospital.

Riley weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces and was 19 inches in length.

Riley is the baby sister of Alysann Smith of Richmond. She is the granddaughter of Henry and Nelda Smith of Baldwin and Jerry and Lynn McFalls of Lincoln County.

Riley is my great niece. I haven’t gotten to see her yet, but have seen pictures, and she is beautiful.

Her sister, Alysann, her cousin, Kara Jones, and her great aunt and uncle, Myra and Garnett Isbell, were there for her birth. I sure hope to get to see her soon.

Happy birthday wishes go out next week to Wesley Hall and Priscilla Winkler on Wednesday.

I hope you both have very happy birthdays and many more happy ones to come.

Happy anniversary wishes go out next week to Bo and Anna Robinson on Wednesday.

I hope you have a happy anniversary and many more happy ones to come.

Farmers are fighting the mud to feed there cattle and other animals right now.

We have had a lot of rain and it is so muddy. But, according to the weatherman, we are having an arctic blast next week, so maybe it will freeze the ground and be easier on the farmers and animals.

Well, I guess that’s all the news I have for this week. Let me know if you hear any news. Just give me a call at 623-4579 or e-mail me at
