UNION CITY — Union City Homemakers will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Ruriatan Building. This will be a Christmas dinner including family members. A cookie swap and white elephant sale will be included in the activities.

New windows in the Ruritan building have been installed. Almost enough money has been raised to cover the cost. Donations now will go toward purchasing new doors. The deadline for giving to the Windows Fund will be Jan. 1. If you wish to donate, contact Robert Murphy at 623-9461 for details.

Each weekday morning between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., several Union City citizens will meet at the Ruritan to drink or spill coffee. You are welcome in either case. They did not throw me out when I tipped a cup over. It is good to visit and to catch up on news in Union City. We thank Leo Conner for opening each day.

Children at Union City Christian Church will present a  Christmas program, “The Cupcake Christmas,” Sunday, Dec. 16 at 6:30 pm. Casey Daugherty is director of this program.

Birthday wishes to  Scott Sewell, Friday,  Pati Goode, Saturday; Barbara Rupard, Sunday; Shelia Murphy, Monday; Lois Marionneaux and Mary Weitkamp, Tuesday; Ross Ramsey, Wednesday and Daryn Wells next Thursday.  If you have news or announcements let me know at 623-3880 or email drtech@roadrunner.com.
