MADISON COUNTY —
Hello from Baldwin. How is everyone’s week going?
I hope everyone is having a great one.
We had some warmer weather which has turned cool again, but not bad for December.
I wonder if we will have a white Christmas this year?
I have been enjoying the pictures of my friends’ Christmas trees and decorations on Facebook.
Everyone is so festive this year. I have seen a few outside decorations around here in the community and they are beautiful. As for me, I don’t even have a wreath on the door.
Baldwin 4-H will meet tonight in the fellowship hall of Bethel Christian Church at 6:30. We will be making a craft and each child will need $2 for their project.
We will be having a Christmas party, too. So be sure to attend this meeting.
We still are accepting new members, so if you are interested, please attend the meeting.
On Saturday, my sisters, Myra Isbell and Nelda Smith, and I will be displaying our crafts to sell at Holiday Happenings at Richmond City Hall from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Joyce Middleton and other crafters will also be there. So mark your calendars and come on out and you many just find that last-minute present you need or maybe a beautiful ornament, wreath or who knows what. Hope to see you there!
Happy birthday wishes go out next week to Joan Estes, Sunday; Wesley Richie and Lucas Stamper, Monday; Cameron Garett, Tuesday; Donna Bailey and Tommy Harrison, Thursday; Ida Helen Burrus, Kyran Hall and a very special young man over on Poosey Ridge, Todd Reynolds, Saturday. I hope all of you have very happy birthdays and many more happy ones to come.
Happy anniversary wishes go out next week to Bobby and Becky Riddle, Wednesday. I hope you have a very happy anniversary and many more to come.
Baldwin 4-H Club went to Madison Manor Nursing Home on Saturday. They arrived with Christmas trees, which they and the residents decorated, and took them to their rooms.
The children and leaders also had stuffed some stockings for the residents to have for Christmas.
I heard they had a wonderful time. I was a little under the weather and didn’t get to go.
On Sunday, Bethel Christian Church served chili and hot dogs after morning worship.
Those in attendance decorated the Christmas tree and put up wreaths in the church. They also stuffed 12 Salvation Army stockings that will be given to children in need.
Bro. Michael and others also worked on an upcoming event that will be at the church on Dec. 15. I will let you know more about it next week. I heard everyone had a wonderful time.
I want to express my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Elizabeth Short.
Elizabeth will be missed by all who loved her. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.
Well, I guess that’s all for now. Let me know if you hear any news. Just give me a call at 623-4579 or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
