I am sad to say that the community center’s clothing closet has closed.
It originally was opened by the women’s “WINGS team” of the Kirksville Baptist Church. They wanted to help those in need after the tornado that went through our community.
When it first opened, they provided not only clothing but other essentials to help get people through their daily routines. Many people lost all they had at that time. A gas card helped them go back and forth to work.
It was opened for a great cause and stayed open to continue helping others.
Kirksville rebuilt and only memories are left of that horrible day.
I really appreciate that WINGS spread out to help others. I will miss seeing that ladies at the clothes closet. But, you fulfilled your job as assigned by God. Thank you so much.
The close and WINGS are part of what makes this community so special. That is why we have our Kirksville Day celebration. Don’t forget it is set for Saturday, Sept. 28. I will be writing more about the event.
The Full Gospel Tabernacle will be having its homecoming this Sunday at 11 a.m. with Weston HInson performing and well as singing by the church youth group. There will be no Sunday school or evening service. There will be a pot meal after the morning serivice.
Don't forget Josh Logan at the Community Center on Sept. 20 from 7 to 10:30 p.m. Great music, great friendship and great fun.
