RICHMOND — Members of the Happy Hands Quilters gathered at the county extension office Thursday to kick off their “Block of the Month” class. The class is working on an “America is Beautiful” quilt design they found in a magazine, class instructor Cheryl Witt said. The club meets every Thursday from from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will work on the “America” quit each third Thursday for a year when it should be finished. For those who can’t make the third Thursday meetings but want to work on the “America” quilt, beginning Sept. 23 they can attend a special fourth Monday session from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
