Derby Day looks good

Waco News

WACO — Hi! Hey, hey, hey – finally some nice warm weather three days in a row! Derby Day doesn’t look too bad. If the rain can hold off until the horses run, that will be great. Have you picked a horse yet?

Notes from Pastor Jones

Lots going on at Flatwoods Christian Church and from the desk of Pastor Tim Jones, we have these notes:

• Wow! What a day we had on Sunday. The church house was full with a count of 151. Tib and Donna Congleton were overwhelmed by everyone’s kindness and participation. Thank you.

We ended the service with the baptism of Chloe Jarrell.  Then there was a great time of food and fellowship. So glad we could be a part of it all.

• We certainly appreciate Jesse Ward who took many photos on Sunday.

If you want to see some very good pictures from Sunday, go to Facebook and search for Ward, Jesse. He took a  a lot of good ones.

• Keep our Thursday night prayer service in mind. This is a community-wide National Day of Prayer service at 7 p.m. Participation from different churches is  expected. Hope you can be with us.”

Happy anniversary

Happy anniversary to Walt and Melissa Compton, May 1; and Phil and Sue Herald, May 4.

Happy birthday

Happy birthday wishes go out to Bailey Dickerson on May 3. You’re out here all by yourself, how’s that for being special!

That’s about it for this week. Have a great one! If you have a church newsletter, send me a copy and we can get your church news in – or just e-mail news to
