Habitat for Humanity of Madison and Clark County

97 homes and still building

Register staff report

RICHMOND — Habitat for Humanity of Madison and Clark County was chosen for support by the Novelis Neighbor program. Habitat was presented with a check for $10,000 at the site of its latest build on Douglas Court in Richmond, the future home of Thomas Azbill and his daughter Destinee.

Founded in 1992, the organization has partnered with volunteers, donors and families to build “safe, decent affordable housing,” said Judy Flavell, executive director.

The local Habitat for Humanity affiliate has built 97 homes so far — 15 in Clark County and 82 in Madison County, she said. Thomas and Destinee will be the 103rd family served by the organization.
