Hello everyone. It is time for another of Susie's famous fish fry's. Stop in at the Roundhill Store on Friday night from 4-8 p.m. to get some of her good fish and all the fixings. There will be plenty of seating and a lot of talking. If you have never been, the first time won't be your last time.
On Sunday, May 19th the Freemans will be at the morning service at The Full Gospel Tabernacle. It will be a great service and a great day. This will also be the church's Pastor appreciation day. So you know what that will mean, food and lots of it. Pastor Rickey Horn says that when you become a pastor that you somehow obtain a great enjoyment for fried chicken. The pot luck meal will be right after the morning service. Everyone is invited.
May 18th at the Kirksville Community Center will be the 3rd annual Spring Gathering. Doors will open from 9-2 p.m. The venders will already be there, set up and ready for you. Concessions will be available as well.
I remember when the old school was purchased and taken over by some great members of the community to become something of importance other than just an old school building. It has become a Community Center with multiple functions. Not only does it host wonderful events like the Spring Gathering for all to enjoy, but other great things as well. It also houses the clothing bank.
The clothing bank is operated by volunteers from the Kirksville Baptist Church. It will be open on May 25th. It is offsetting it's usual 3rd Saturday to make sure it does not interfere with the Spring Gathering.
The Community Center is the place for police training class. It is the perfect place for some special training exercises.
It is the home of Bill Adams' Tai chi classes as well as wonderful art work. We can not forget a place for weddings reception, reunions, parties and other gatherings. Let us not forget the Josh Logan concerts. Then our annual Thanksgiving celebration and the Kirksville Day festival and much more.
The outside has running tract and picnic area with bathrooms and lots of parking space. We sometimes forget all the work that goes into the Center and all the wonderful people who do what they do to keep the doors open. Thank you so much.
