KIRKSVILLE — Hello everyone. I am running a little late in getting my column in, so it may be short.

Duane has been a little under the weather. I just wanted to mention a couple of important things that happened this past week.

I usually don’t mention birthdays, but this is a special one. Irene Stocker has just had a birthday. She was a young 101 years old.

You have to admit reaching 101 years old is a great thing. God has blessed her greatly. Keep going Irene. I hope you had a great birthday.

Then on the other side of that, I hate to mention a great loss in our community, Cecil Tussey. I know he will be greatly missed at the Roundhill store. He was one of their regular faces every day.

I remember Cecil from years ago at the Kirksville bank. I remember walking in with Dad, with my first bag of loose change, to open my first savings account. I was about age seven. He made me feel like I was his greatest customer. My deepest sorrow to the family.
