Hay consignment auction

The Madison County Extension Service and Madison County Fair Board are partnering again on the second annual hay consignment auction on Saturday, Jan. 9 at 10 a.m. at the Madison County Fairgrounds. The auction will be conducted in the indoor arena. The following types of square and rolled bales of hay will be accepted:

• Alfalfa, alfalfa mix

• Timothy, timothy mix

• Mixed Grasses

• Grass/Clover mix

• Teff grass

• Wheat or Rye hay

• Wheat or Rye straw

Hay will be accepted Jan. 6-8, from noon to 6 p.m.

No hay will be accepted on the day of the sale.

Consignors will have the option for their hay to be tested for nutritional analysis by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture on Jan. 8. Hay analysis will be placed on each lot of hay prior to sale and will be announced prior to bidding.

If you are in need, consider taking advantage of this opportunity to buy local hay that is tested and you know what you are getting. Please call me at 623-4072 if you have questions.
