KIRKSVILLE — Hello everyone. Friday night is the Halloween carnival at the old school, community center. A chili supper starts at 5 p.m. and the doors open at 6 p.m. for the carnival.

As a child, I remember being so anxious to go to the carnival. It was a good time to be with your parents and see all your friends winning prizes. I liked the cake walk and bingo. Now, I like the bingo just so I can sit down.

The halls were decorated with artwork the kids made. I guess it was artwork. I just remember that it was special. It only happened once a year. Now, I can see how much work goes into making the carnival. Trust me – it is a lot of work.

I think it is very special that we can still have a Halloween carnival. I hope everyone will stop by for food and fun. I think they are planning some new games as well as most of the traditional ones.

Don’t forget to drop off your cakes, cookies and candy to help with the cake walk. They could not do it if it was not for all the help of the community.

Saturday night, Susie from the Roundhill store will be having a fish fry. You can get two great meals this weekend at Kirksville. She is having her fish fry on Saturday night instead of Friday because of the carnival. That shows great collaboration to make a great weekend for our community. She will be serving at 6 p.m. You know she will be ready before that, so don’t miss the meal.

Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. will be the annual cookout and hayride at David and Tonika’s farm. There will be no evening service that day.

Something you need to make plans for is the youth performance during the evening service at Full Gospel Tabernacle on Oct. 21 at 6 p.m. Do not miss it. It is really something special.
