KIRKSVILLE — Hello everyone. If you want something to do, visit Kirksville this weekend. Let us start off with the Spring Gathering at the Community Center from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. This is the craft and vendor fair. Plan to spend some extra time, there is so many booths that it will take you a while to make it around.

Then at the Kirksville Baptist Church, the “Fairhaven Quartet” will begin off the morning service at 10 a.m. Then at 11 a.m, regular morning service, there will be a special guest speaker former Pastor Brian Malcom. There will be a pot-luck dinner following the service. Everyone is invited. Evening services will be dismissed.

The Full Gospel Tabernacle will also be having a special Sunday morning service beginning at 11 a.m. with The Freeman’s. It will be a service of song and praise. This is also the church’s Pastor Appreciation Day. A pot-luck meal will follow the singing. There will be no Sunday School or evening service.

Let’s talk garden, some of you are asking 'what garden?' I know what you mean. The things we have in the garden are probably washed away. Who knows when I can get to the garden with all the rain and mud. My goal is today, I am in hope that with the few sunny days, maybe just maybe it may be dry enough for me to set out the tomatoe plants. I doubt Dad being able to plow any to loosen up the dirt. All this rain has packed the dirt. Those poor potatoes, they may be rotten. I know clear days will be on the horizon. Then I can write about no rain and everything drying up. But, I can only complain about one thing at a time. I won’t even mention all the rain and my need to cut the hay.
