Revival scheduled at Liberty Chapel

UNION CITY — Liberty Chapel will have revival services May 5-10. The Sunday service will begin at 6 p.m., while Monday through Friday services will begin at 7 p.m. Evangelists for the meeting will be Kenneth Wasson and George Sparks. Liberty Chapel is located at 464 Three Forks Road. Everyone is welcome.

A special service will be conducted at Union City Christian Church on Sunday, May 5, at 3 p.m. Evan Denief will be ordained to the ministry.

Evan is the son of Chip and Rita Denief. He is a 2012 graduate of Johnson University and has served as youth minister at Union City four years.

He and his wife Kiersey are moving to Louisville where he will be serving as children’s minister of Hikes Point Christian Church.

Union City Baptist Church will have Movie Night on Friday, May 3, at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Women’s Missionary Union of Union City Baptist Church will participate in a salad supper Monday, May 6, at 6 p.m. This dinner will be hosted by the WMU of Waco Baptist Church and representatives of Sunrise Children’s Homes will be on the program.  Funds and gifts will benefit Sunrise Children’s Homes.

Union City Baptist has announced the dates for Vacation Bible School. This event is being organized by Brenda Parke for the week of June 23-28.

Union City Day is scheduled for Saturday, May 18. Two raffles are underway. One is for a quilt handmade by Mary Sewell. Raffle tickets are available  for several prizes including a 32-inch TV, Garmin GPS unit and Paula Deen Cookware. See a Ruritan member to purchase tickets. All proceeds from both raffles will go to the floor replacement fund.

Happy wedding anniversary wishes go out to Leroy and Louise Murphy this Sunday.

Happy birthday this week to Susan Hart, Sunday; Sharon Stepp, Wednesday; and Olivia Ruth Goode, next Thursday.
