Christmas dinner has good turnout

Union City News

UNION CITY — Union City Homemakers had the family Christmas dinner last Thursday at the Ruritan. Attendance was good and everyone enjoyed the meal and auction.

At the White Elephant Auction, wrapped packages were sold.

The big question was how much are you willing to pay for a surprise?

It seems everyone who won bids got their money’s worth. It was a fun time and we thank the ladies who invited us to attend.

Union City Christian had a concert by the choir last Sunday morning and a children’s program on Sunday night. The nighttime attendance was about 260!

The Christian Church will have a Christmas Eve service on Monday at 6:30 p.m.

Remember, Union City Christian Church cook books make great gifts for friends and family. The price has been reduced to $5.

The funds benefit youth activities of the church. You may contact the church at 623-8597.

Another gift possibility is the new gospel music CD released by “His Own.” They have arrived and Sally Childers will be glad to help you. Contact her at 623-8937.

There is news from Union City Baptist Church.

The church made a decision on a minister. James Hardin, who has been interim for a while, was chosen by the congregation to continue on as the regular pastor.

Hope you all have a great Christmas season!

Birthday wishes this week to  Carson Livers on Friday.
