PAINT LICK — It’s a bleak-looking Tuesday morning here in Paint Lick, but I just know our sun is going to shine.

It’s also a busy time here at Friends of Paint Lick and we have a new volunteer.

It’s always exciting to meet someone who does volunteer work. I am looking forward to the teaching practices.

I have been talking with Don Weber of  “the chair shop” here in Paint Lick and, while I know he does more numerous things than just chair making, it’s always exciting to hear of some new plans in his business.

Don and his wife Beth are “regulars in residence” now in Paint Lick and I love having them as part of our town.

Plans are in the making for an open house and reception at the Paint Lick Community Arts Center on Friday, March 22, from 6 to 8 p.m.

It will be a final farewell from all of us in Paint Lick Everyone is invited to attend and share in the joys and many stories of the past year.

Hal and Yvonne Davis have been so good for this community. There are just not enough words to say what I’d like in so short a time. It’s been a fantastic time for all of us here at Friends of Paint Lick as we came to know and love these two people who have enriched the very life of this community.

This is the day the Lord has made ... as always.

Happy birthday to my niece, Peggy Sue Turner, on March 15, and to Billy Ross Lear “doc” on March 20.

May God bless.
