Foley brings home championship trophy

LEXINGTON — The Foley Middle School eighth-grade boys basketball team home the championship trophy in the first middle school Region 11 tournament hosted at the Kentucky Basketball Academy in Lexington, Feb. 8-10. 

They defeated Scott County, Lexington Christian and two other Lexington middle schools to take the title.

Michael Jefferson was chosen as the 11th Region Middle School Tournament MVP.

The team finished the year with a 30-2 record in both regular and post-seaon play.

Team accomplishments this year include: Regular season conference champions, conference tournament runner-up, Turkey Tip-Off champion, KBA Holiday Tournament Silver Bracket champion and Region 11 Middle School Tournament champions.
