WACO — Hi! Happy Valentine’s Day!

It seems a lot of folks are celebrating “the day” on Saturday this year.

For instance, Waco Masonic Lodge and Flatwoods Christian Church are sponsoring special Valentine dinners for Saturday night.

Waco 338 Masonic Lodge on College Hill Road is sponsoring a potluck Valentines dinner this Saturday at 6 p.m.  Brillian Cain will be preparing the ham.  (Yummy says Jim Rogers and we all agree!)

Saturday night is also “Ladies, we love you” dinner at Flatwoods Christian Church.

The men will do all the work (cooking, cleaning, decorating, serving the ladies, etc.)

From the desk of the pastor we have these reminders for the men:

Men, if you want to help with the decorations, meet Bill Wilson at the fellowship hall Saturday at 10 a.m.

If you are helping with the dinner preparation, meet with Phil Herald in the 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. time range.

For the youth, we will do a little differently this year, everyone will go through the food line at the beginning, but we are asking them to bring the red aprons they wore last year and they will be serving drinks, refills, etc.

Looking forward to a great weekend!  (I do believe they have a plan, and ladies, all you have to do is show up!)

Congratulations to Waco P.E. teacher Stuart Rose and his wife on the birth of their first child, a precious baby boy! Your students will be so excited!

Of course, there are papaws, mamaws, aunts, uncles, neices and nephews who have been anxiously awaiting the arrival (especially so the last couple of weeks.)

Particulars will come later, but I believe the name Tyler Marshall previously was chosen by the couple for the newborn’s name. Congratulations to everyone!

Happy birthday wishes are sent out to Lucy Beth Anderson, Feb. 14; Jody Plummer, Feb. 16; and Phil Herald and Gavin Holloway, Feb. 20.

Deepest sympathies are extended to the family of Jimmy Roark, who passed away recently. Just wanted you to know you are in the thoughts and prayers of your friends and neighbors at this time.

That’s about it for this week – have a great one!

Get well, Bailey Dickerson – that’s an order!

I need to call Sue.

Prayers also go out (and are requested) for (Uncle) Leon Centers who recently was hospitalized.
