It’s official! Spring has arrived

RICHMOND — I traveled to my home in the mountains this past weekend, and the hills’ blooming bushes and trees truly acclaimed the handiwork of our Lord.

With white and pink multicolored blooms on the flowering trees and magnificent Forsythia Bushes ablaze with color, there is little doubt Mother Nature has finally put on her spring jacket and is stepping out in royal form for all to enjoy.

My cup is truly filled with sunshine and thanksgiving. Bright, sunny days make me very happy, and I hope they have the same effect on you, my friends.

Tates Creek Baptist Church, 1255 Boonesborough Road, is so proud to announce that they have a team of six members doing mission work in Louisiana, on the Grand Isle.

This team of six mission workers is laboring alongside workers from First Baptist Church of the Grand Isle, helping to build a new church in that area.

The Tates Creek Baptist Church Mission team plans to be on site, in Louisiana, from April 6-15. Great work, guys!

While the weather is sunny and agreeable, be sure to scan the yard sale ads each week and take advantage of all of the big savings.

Seriously, the northern end of the county is growing in leaps and bounds, and with so many new subdivisions, there seems to be rummage sales going on everywhere.

Remember! One man’s treasure … oh well! You know the rest of the maxim.

I would like to wish belated happy birthdays to Doug West, April 1, and Evan McCord, April 3.

Other birthday greetings go out to Jordan Boogie, April 9; Cody Jones, April 11; Seth Tames,  April 12; Ricky Jeffers,  April 13; Tammy Gay and Woorly Mathews, April 15; and Jo-Anne Allen, April 16.

Anniversary greetings go out to Madge and Andy Selders, April 10, and Devin and Gracie Mason, April 14.

I truly hope everyone will have a wonderful day celebrating with loved ones and friends. May God bless each of you.

The old adage for the week is as follows: “A short horse is soon curried.”
