MADISON COUNTY —
Make plans to attend the Madison County Beef Cattle Association “Forage Workshop” on Thursday, May 2, at the Thomas Farm, 2370 Union City Road, Richmond. The workshop will begin at 5 p.m. and run through 7:30 p.m.
Presentations will be made by UK Extension Forage Specialist, Dr. Ray Smith; UK Beef Cattle Specialist, Dr. Jeff Lehmkuhler, and will include No Till drill set up and demonstration as well as a tub grinder demonstration using alfalfa/orchardgrass baleage and hay.
Other topics will include: Alfalfa Establishment and Feeding Baleage to Beef Cattle.
A hamburger meal will be served. Cost will be $5 per person for non-members or you can renew your membership for $30 (single) or $45 (couple) and eat for free. Remember to bring your lawn chairs.
