Christmas is less than two weeks away

BALDWIN — Hello from Baldwin.

How is everyone’s week going? I hope everyone is having a great one. I also hope you are staying warm and safe.

We are having some pretty cold weather, and the ice on Sunday and light snow on Monday really made it seem like Christmas.

Christmas is less than two weeks away. Do you have your shopping completed? I am no where near finished.

I’ve been baking and making candy for the Christmas season, and my sisters and I have been busy taking and filling orders for candy, breads, rolls and jam cakes.

Whatever you are doing for Christmas and where ever you are spending it, I hope that you are truly blessed this Christmas season.

Please don’t forget the real meaning of CHRISTmas. It is the birthday of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Jesus is the reason for the season.

Happy birthday wishes go out next week to: Ida Helen Burrus, Kyran Hall and Todd Reynolds, Sunday; D.J. Wade and Janie Lee West, Monday; Lilly Barber, Wednesday; Jennifer Goins, Thursday; and JoAnn Howard, Saturday. I hope that you all have very happy birthdays and many more happy ones to come.

Happy anniversary wishes go out next week to Billy and Debbie Foster, Friday. I hope you have a very happy anniversary and many more to come.

I have been receiving some Christmas cards and I love getting them, if I get 200 cards this year that wouldn’t be too many for me. I love getting Christmas cards and reading every one of them, but I love sending them and giving them also. I might even let you know after Christmas how many I get.

I would like to invite you to attend Bethel Christian Church here in the Baldwin community. Sunday school starts at 10 a.m. and morning worship starts at 11 a.m. Michael Damron, minister of the church, along with the congregation would love to have you worship with them.

Let me know if you hear any news. Be sure to give me a call at 623-4579 or e-mail me at pljones61@netzero.com.

I love this time of the year because eggs really do go down in price during the Easter season. I have some new recipes on how to fix eggs besides the coloring part.

Who knew the Easter bunny could fly?

Skeptics can come to the Easter Eggstravaganza in Richmond’s Irvine-McDowell Park on Saturday to see for themselves. However, the bunny still doesn’t fly in bad weather. But on Monday, temperatures in the 60s with partly cloudy skies were predicted for Saturday.
