Ice forecast brings back memories of big storms

KIRKSVILLE —

Hello everyone.

I am glad that this weather has been a hit or miss for us.

The roads were icy Sunday, but it could have been a lot worse. The electricity was off at my house for about two hours, but it was not off long enough to get cold. When I hear of ice, it brings the not-so-pleasant reminders of our big ice storm. I dread it each time.

It is time to talk about the snow policy for some of the churches. The Kirksville Baptist Church will always have Sunday morning service. GAs, RAs and Mission Friends and youth will not meet on Wednesday evenings when school has been canceled because of snow.

The Full Gospel Tabernacle will have announcements regarding the church services on TV. If you ever have a question about a church service, please call a member before you get out on the road.

Remember the Christmas play at The Full Gospel Tabernacle at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.. It will be a play that touches your heart, yet you will laugh so hard that you will be ready to fall in the floor. Russ Barnes is a hoot in the play. It is titled “What is Christmas.” Everyone is invited.

The Full Gospel Tabernacle Christmas dinner will be this Sunday following the morning service. It is a potluck meal.

Don’t forget to make your plans for the candlelight service on Christmas evening at 8 p.m. at the Kirksville Baptist Church. Come celebrate Christmas with the church.

Don’t forget the Josh Logan concert at the Kirksville Community Center 7 p.m. Friday night. Admission is $5. Don’t forget this is the last month for the Full Gospel Tabernacle food drive.
